Students' Diversified Course Selection, Teachers' Inter-Professional Teaching

Every Wednesday afternoon, the campus of the Middle School attached to Sichuan University is also vigorous because of the variety of elective courses. Every classroom in the first grade of junior middle school has different themes. Some students submerge in the "Happy Reading" class, some students display tourist maps in the "Creative Tourism" class, some students dance jazz or national dance in the dance classroom, and some students play ball and chess on the playground.

The teacher in charge of the research and development of elective courses said, "Students can choose courses in their classes and promote their all-round development. These elective courses have also introduced university credit management and teaching mode. At the end of the term, students will be assessed in various forms, such as short papers, small works, and so on. Finally, according to their usual performance and final assessment, comprehensive scores will be calculated and recorded in the files, and students will be surveyed comprehensively and stereoscopically.

Interestingly, many popular elective courses are taught by "cross-line" teachers. For example, English teachers come to "embroidery in music" and Chinese teachers to "food world". Li Xiaoyan, vice principal of the junior Middle School attached to Sichuan University, said, "In fact, the development of elective courses is not only for students, but also for teachers. The courses offered are not confined to the subjects taught by teachers, but to tap their own strengths, which is also a challenge for them.
